Once upon a time
Kevin Lawver interviewed an outside firm to do a job for AOL. They were talking about design and the company’s work. Here’s Kevin’s post...” was in an interview today (update: not for a job for me, I was interviewing them to do a job for AOL), talking to a design and development shop (who will remain nameless) about their work and other assorted web-nerdery (flash vs. html, accessibility, localization, etc) when I asked them about the different DOCTYPES they use and why they didn’t just pick one and stick with it. Here’s how the conversation went.
* Creative Director: Yeah, we pick based on client needs and stuff… We’re pretty anal about standards and stuff. We’re geeks, and you know, geeks love anal.
* Me: That’s going on a t-shirt.
He didn’t get it right away, which is probably a good thing. I wish every interview went that well. “
So what happened
So I said I’d create the tshirt and presenting…
So we’re going to get shirts
Kevin wants shirts, so does Jason, Jeremy and a few others but....I’m going to order them but I need to get enough people to agree otherwise it won’t be worth the cost. Anyone interested? Let me know. I’m going to get American Apparel (no sweatshop labor found here). You know you want one. :)

Cindy, I’m wearing the shirt to work today. Had one person ask what it’s all about (he guessed ‘geeks love everything’ - 2/3 right, not bad at all!).
Ooh I feel so subversive.

I am so tempted to order one of them, and I feel shamed that I didn’t realize what the asterisk was for at first.
