How to get into TNA

November 26 , 2006

Once upon a time

I was heading down to Orlando for the Refresh conference. To my suprise my friend/coworker/aka local wrestling fan, Jason Garber says, “Hey let’s go to TNA!” Sorry to disappoint but TNA is TOTAL NON STOP ACTION WRESTLING. :P (I know Eric was disappointed to hear this :P). I should have seen this coming since he was a huge fan (he does have a fake wrestling belt in his home :P ). So on Dec 19th was the Pay-per-view event at Universal Studios. I thought this would be rather interesting since I had never even watched a show on tv.

What you can bring

You can bring in a camera (yes, even your SLR and lenses).
No video cameras they are rather strict on that I saw a guy removed for having one half way through the event.
You can bring in a sign or two of your favorite wrestler.

How to get into TNA

Universal OrlandoHard Rock Cafe

Drive to Universal Studios and pay the $10 for the parking (if you get there before 6pm) Free route: You can stand outside by the Hard Rock Cafe and hope that there aren’t 1,000 people already inside. Best way: Buy a ticket to see Universal that day and then start getting in line around 5pm. Then be prepared to wait. FL Resident: If you are a FL resident and have the unlimited access to the park you can get in for free as well.

So where do you wait?

When you first enter the park you will see the Jimmy Neutron’s Nicktoon Blast building. Make a left then there will be on your right the studio buildings with columns. Just start waiting there. You’ll see that the only other building will be an refreshment stand and Hard Rock Cafe.

What to do once you are one of the lucky 1,000

Once ushered into the second portion of the wait line we watched them pre-record some of the wrestlers walking in with the fans screaming and chanting (if you are by the edges of the railing you might get on tv).
When you walk in you will see the entrance ramps and the wrestling rink. You can stand by the rink or grab a seat in the stands (I went for that).
You can move between the stands and the side (I did for the photos).

So what did I think?

Some of the fans who live in FL drive for every event. I saw kids there till the 11pm time. It was interesting and I had fun screaming but TNA isn’t for me and I can check this off on my things to do in this lifetime list. You would think that men in spandex would do something but… I prefer my men with more brains than brawn. :D
