So I’ve transferred into the technology team and we’re looking for 3 people. If you are interested your resume. :D We’re a small team in AOL Technologies.

Sr Software Engineer (#61972BR, Full time)

Senior Software Engineer, Open Services, Platform Innovation Team. Experienced software engineer, responsible for rapidly prototyping and engineering innovative software applications utilizing AOL’s next-generation client platform and user interface toolkit.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with small team of passionate and creative engineers and designers to prototype next-generation client software and applets for AOL’s client infrastructure organization.
  • Rapidly design and prototype next-generation user interaction concepts leveraging AOL’s Open Client Platform.
  • Collaborate on the innovation, design and implementation of concept prototypes with peers.
  • Discover, document and disseminate effective design patterns.
  • Train and mentor technology customers and peers in software design and platform “best-practices”.
  • Analyze the UI trends and designs of competing products or ideas.
  • Stay current on user interface technologies.

Skills Required

Qualified candidates must have at least 6-8 years experience with software design and user interface development and possess the following characteristics:

  • Extremely disciplined, meticulous, and wildly creative.
  • Experience with implementing application user interfaces. Must have flair for creativity as it relates to novel interface solutions.
  • Command of modern software languages specifically C, C++, Java and/or C#.
  • Experience with rapid proto-typing.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows OS, development platform, and tools, e.g. COM, WIN32, Visual Studio, .NET.
  • Advanced level understanding of Javascript, HTML/XHTML, CSS, and XML.
  • Command of modern scripting languages (Python, JavaScript) and understanding of their practical benefits and limitations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent debugging and problem analysis skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Skills Desired

  • Experience with the following technologies a plus: RSS, Atom,MetaWeblog API, HTML, CSS, Json, JavaScript, XML, SOAP, web services, REST, XMPP, Jabber, Flex.
  • Experience and understanding of declarative UI markup languages such as XUL, XAML, MXML, or Laszlo Systems LZX.
  • Experience with “Web 2.0” methodologies and trends.

Education/Equivalent Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience and 6-8 years related technical experience required.
