The Adventures of Cindy Li
The new job at Scrapblog
April 9 , 2007
Once upon a time
I attended conferences, many, many conferences. I spoke to everyone I could and made some great friends along the way I met an amazing User Interface designer, Mike Gowen. He totally looks like Doogie Howser (Mike don’t kill me) but he’s real and a lot smarter. He had hired Veerle Pieters to do a few themes for Scrapblog and realized we were friends (she had put me into her theme).
What happened next...
He invited me to come down and take a look at the Scrapblog offices in Miami to meet the CEO, Carlos Garcia. The entire Scrapblog family is amazing. I did a theme for the project and I was hooked. I kept asking when I could do more themes and they offered me a job. I accepted the position at Scrapblog as their Director of Content.
The theme I created
I’m looking for the best illustrators out there to hire in the next month. I officially start April 12th but I’ll be keeping my eyes and ears open for illustrators.
Scrapblog
What is it? It’s online scrap booking. You pull in photos from places like Yahoo! Photo, Flickr, Photobucket and Webshots. You can even pull in videos on to the page. It’s via drag and drop. Then share your creation with your friends and family, depending on your level of privacy comfort or you can publish it for the world to see. Here’s my scrapblog page if your curious. You can go to the website to test it out before signing up if you want to. Try it out and let me know what you think. ::Cheers!:::

Wish you all the luck in your new job, the move and the trip you’ll be making :) I think your theme is so cute and fun. Totally love the colors! Hugs, V.

Congrats on the new job Cindy! Great party theme, the only thing missing is the mandatory Burger King crown.

Heard the great news through Veerle’s Twitter. I was just trying out the Scrapblog service and the process and results are absolutely wonderful. I even could integrate it in one of my news pages in a useful way.
It even eats Flickr cookies!

Congrats on the job Cindy. Believe it or not, I went to college with Mike! And yeah, he does look a little like a famous young doctor from the 80’s ;)
