Travel Tips

Lessons I learned while traveling:
After talking to Melissa, who is traveling to Europe. I realized that some tips may be in order.
In case your wondering how good your seat is: Seatguru
Don’t forget to get frequent mileage miles for your travels and check the airline’s site for some specials on mileage that you have to sign up for.
They dont sign you up automatically.. well United Airlines doesn't anyway.
Things to bring on the plane:
- Comfy shoes you can slip off, they will swell on a long flight (Get up and walk to the bathroom so you dont cramp up when you land or while on the plane)
- A toothbrush and toothpaste (cause people will like you better)
- A change of clothes whether or not it is just underwear (yes they do loose luggage sometimes, ask my Uncle)
- Pillow that inflates (the one that looks stupid goes around your neck like a U but hey no neck cramps)
- Water bottle (they give you cups of water and sometimes like when you have your laptop you dont want an open cup around it, plus its handy to drink and you dont have to have that lap tray down in your way)
- Jacket in case it gets cold but they usually have a blanket
Things that might come in handy on the trip:
- Photocopy your passport, put phone numbers that you might need for instance: American Embassy website
- Call your credit card companies and tell them you are leaving the country, where you are going (I had mine turned off when I went to Brazil.. not fun; why? cause they think someone stole my credit card.)
- Vaccination shots? Depends on where you are going: Center for Disease Control website
